Beaded Dress

What I value most about sewing and fashion design is the ability to create work that is truly one of a kind. For this gown, my goal was to design a piece that felt distinctive while authentically reflecting my personal aesthetic. I began by sourcing a concept image to guide the direction of the design, then selected fabric in a colour palette that aligned with my vision. The bodice was my first experience working with beaded fabric, requiring careful handling and precision to maintain both structure and detail. The skirt was drafted without a pattern, marking an important step in the development of my pattern-making practice.
